SAUGEEN SHORES, Ont. – A 15-year-old boy from Brampton, Ont., has drowned in Lake Huron.
Police say three boys had been swimming in the lake at Saugeen Shores on Sunday evening when the current and waves brought them into deeper water.
They say a 50-year-old Toronto man was able to help one of the boys to safety, another boy made his own way in, but the third disappeared under the waves.
Police say officers, fire crews and members of the public were in the water trying to find the boy.
The teen was found in the water by firefighters in a zodiac and taken to the shore unresponsive.
Despite resuscitation efforts, they say the boy was pronounced dead at a hospital.
