Tubing along the Gaspereau River is expected to resume next month following a hot, dry summer in Nova Scotia.
The river is several feet lower than usual for this time of year, which has left thousands of people unable to enjoy the popular summer activity.

Nova Scotia Power controls the flow of water along the Gaspereau. The system needs to run 24/7 until June 15 to allow for fish migration. After that, the water level along the Gaspereau River is reduced to increase the flow of water to nearby bodies of water.
The reduced water, combined with a lack of rain this summer, means tubing along the Gaspereau River has been greatly reduced this year.
Organizers with Gaspereau River Tubing say the river will be high enough on the weekend of Sept. 10 for tubing to resume.
