Murder trial for Grace and Pier Robotti moved to Kelowna

Global Okanagan Files

A high profile murder trial is being moved from Penticton to Kelowna.

Sister and brother Grace Robotti and Pier Robotti are charged with second degree murder in the death of 26-year-old Roxanne Louie.

Louie was visiting family in the south Okanagan with her three-year-old son over Christmas holidays when she went missing.

She failed to show up for a scheduled flight back to Vancouver from Penticton.

Her body was found in a wooded area near Naramata in January, 2015.

Defense lawyers cited publicity and safety for reasons they wanted the trial moved.

There have been rallies held outside of the Penticton court house during proceedings.

The judge and jury trial is set to begin in July of 2017.
