Alberta man dies, several people seriously injured in crash near Hinton

A 25-year-old Grande Prairie man died in a collision in western Alberta Sunday.

RCMP said a truck slammed into another truck at a construction zone on Highway 16, two kilometres east of Hinton Sunday afternoon, sending it rolling into a ditch. The two women in the truck were taken to hospital in serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

There was a driver and three passengers in the other truck. One of the passengers, a 25-year-old man from Grande Prairie, died at the scene.

A 10-month-old infant was taken to hospital and later released to family.

The driver and another passenger suffered serious injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Hinton is 288 kilometres west of Edmonton.
