Motorcyclist involved in serious collision near Edmonton

Strathcona County RCMP were called to investigate a serious collision involving a car and a motorcycle Monday morning.

Police said a car was travelling north on Range Road 225 when an eastbound motorcycle collided into the driver’s side of the car at the intersection of Highway 630.

The motorcyclist was taken to an Edmonton hospital with serious injuries. The driver and lone passenger of the car weren’t injured.

Strathcona County RCMP and a collision analyst are investigating the crash, but alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor and visibility and road conditions were both good, according to police.

Highway 630 was reopened to traffic Monday afternoon.
