Search continues for missing Saskatchewan man

The search continues for a missing man in northern Saskatchewan.

Tony Olekas, 78, was reported missing on July 25 after he went mushroom picking on July 18 near Big Sandy Lake.

He was last heard from on July 22.

Police continue search for Tony Olekas, 78, who went missing in northern Saskatchewan while mushroom picking.

Police said the area is very remote with very limited cell phone coverage.

La Ronge and Nipawin RCMP have carried out searches in the area and search and rescue flights have been made by the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA).

The most recent search was made on Wednesday, which included using RCMP police dogs.

Police are asking anyone who has a cabin in the area to report any suspicious activity to them.

Olekas is five-foot 11 with a medium build and grey hair. He was last known to be wearing black pants, a dark blue shirt and was carrying a red basket.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local police detachment.
