Three suspects have now been charged following a targeted break and enter and assault in Surrey earlier this week.
A group of residents detained one of the suspects during the incident and posted the clip to YouTube. It appears they tied a belt around the man’s neck.
RCMP used video surveillance and spoke to multiple witnesses to identify the suspects alleged to be involved.
The three people now charged are:
- Robert Wyatt, 39, from Vancouver, has been charged with break and enter, assault, assault causing bodily harm, and failure to comply with probation.
- Roy Houghton, 28, from Surrey, has been charged with assaulting an individual lawfully detaining a person.
- Andres Naranjo, 23, from Burnaby, has been charged with break and enter, assault, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He is not in custody and police are looking for him. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5’7”, 135 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with further information about Naranjo’s whereabouts is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or, if they wish to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or go to www.solvecrime.ca.
