Once in the taxi, RCMP said the men brandished a needle they said was infected with HIV and demanded cash from the driver.

The two men then fled the taxi on foot with a small amount of money, travelling west down an alley behind 39 Street, police said. The driver was not injured in the robbery.

Both suspects are described as having slim builds and dark hair. One appeared to be about 25 years old and was wearing a red T-shirt and dark sunglasses. The second appeared to be about 40 years old and was wearing a “dirty grey shirt” police said.
