Cochrane RCMP are searching for suspects involved in an armed robbery at a Cochrane home on Wednesday.
Officers were called to Gleneagles Estates Lane just before 7:30 a.m. by a homeowner who entered his attached garage to find a man inside.
The suspect told the homeowner he had a gun and threatened to shoot him. He left the garage and entered into the driver’s side of a red Acura with licence plate ZHE360, where a brunette woman was waiting in the passenger’s side.
Investigators said it appeared the victim had left his garage door open prior to the robbery. A variety of sporting equipment was stolen, including a bear hunting bow, a Gerber brush cutting tool (machette) with a black sheath, a rifle-style pellet gun and a soft bow case containing a bow and practice arrows.
The suspect is described as 5’8” to 5’10” tall with darker skin and brown short hair. He had a lean face and body, and was wearing a faded black long-sleeve shirt with dark jeans and dark runners.
The vehicle was stolen from Airdrie, according to RCMP. Investigators released a photo of it on Wednesday.
Officers are asking anyone who sees the vehicle while occupied to call 911 immediately and not approach it, or to call 403-932-2211 if the vehicle is unoccupied.
