A female pedestrian is in critical but stable condition after being struck by a transport truck at the intersection of Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue East Saturday morning.
Peel Regional Police said the incident happened at 8:20 a.m. when a black Peterbilt tractor, without the trailer hitched on, turned onto Eglinton Avenue East, hitting the pedestrian.
The 58-year-old woman was then transported to a Toronto trauma centre.
On Saturday, the intersection was closed for the investigation. It has since been reopened.
Police are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward and provide any information on the actions of both the driver and pedestrian just before the incident happened.
