Longueuil police said a man in his 50s was seriously injured in a work accident after construction materials fell on him Thursday afternoon.

They said the accident took place around 2 p.m. on Des Vétérans Street in Boucherville.
The man was transported to hospital and as of 5 p.m., he was fighting for his life.
Quebec’s workplace health and safety board is investigating, as well as Longueuil police.
