A Kelowna designer is getting positive feedback after teaming up with a national charity for children to help sick teens feel better.
Raegan Hall is one of six Canadian designers creating hospital gowns to help teenagers feel more like themselves rather than just patients.
Hall said she felt honoured to be included in the pilot project, adding she tried to make her designs fun and unique.
“What was really fun for me was to try to get in the mindset of what a teenager would want. I was thinking about festivals, music and movies,” she said.
“I don’t think I realized how much it meant to me until I was smack in the middle of it and I thought, ‘Wow, there’s going to be kids selecting these designs that I make to have all sorts of treatments in.’ It was actually quite emotional for me.”
Hall’s hospital gown designs can be found on Starlight Children’s website.
The charity still needs donations and volunteers to make this project a reality for teenagers across Canada.
