The Saskatchewan government is now accepting applications for retail liquor store permits in five Saskatchewan communities.
Yorkton, Melville, Lloydminster, Moose Jaw and Kindersley will each receive one private liquor store.
In November 2015, the Saskatchewan government said it would sell off 40 government liquor stores for conversion to privately run stores. Eleven new private liquor stores would also be opened in what the government believes are under-served communities.

The deadline for applications is Aug. 30.
This is the second of four rounds of applications to be released. The first round of applications was for Regina and Saskatchewan.
