“I didn’t look and see and I try not to evaluate at this time of the year,” Flames new head coach Glen Gulutzan said. “I’m not going to get any biases towards these guys in July, that’s the reality.”

“We want to make sure they come in here and they get the information, they’re tested so their deficiencies–what they need to work on–and send them back and see if they’ve done it come September.”

After the final on-ice session, the Flames announced they signed first round, sixth overall pick Matthew Tkachuk to his first National Hockey League contract.

The 18-year-old left winger signed a three-year entry-level contract. Tkachuk, son of long-time NHLer Keith Tkachuk, is fresh off a Memorial Cup with the London Knights this past May.
