WINNIPEG — Winnipeggers could soon be lacing up their ice skates in Old Market Square.

Next week, city councillors will debate the possibility of winter activities being offered at the Exchange District green space.

If approved, a skating rink and curling sheet are just two of the suggestions for what could be constructed on the site.

In the past, Mayor Brian Bowman said he would like to see Old Market Square used year round.

Councillors will look at the possibility of funding the programming out of the 2017 budget.
