WEST KELOWNA – RCMP used a tracking dog and helicopter in an unsuccessful attempt to arrest a suspected car thief.
The Mazda Miata was speeding Monday during the noon hour when it was stopped at a police speed trap on Glenrosa road in West Kelowna.

The driver ditched the car and took off running towards the Gorman Bros. Lumber mill.
The K-9 scent track ended near Highway 97.
The car has been seized for a forensic examination for evidence.
