A three-year-old boy has died after being run over by the vehicle his father was driving near the Castle Falls Forestry area Thursday evening, RCMP said.
The family had just finished setting up their holiday trailer for a weekend of camping when the father went to move his vehicle and accidentally drove over his child, RCMP said.
“Witnesses at the scene assisted with medical care and transported the child approximately 40 kilometres to the Pincher Creek Hospital,” RCMP said.
The child’s parents traveled with the bystanders and their son to the hospital, where he died later that evening, police said.
RCMP say alcohol was not a factor.
Charges are not being considered at this time.
