Penticton S.P.C.A. appeals for tiny tabby

PENTICTON–A kitten with a troubled past has the chance to find a loving home, thanks to the volunteers at the Penticton SPCA.

The kitten, now named Sneaker,  was brought to the shelter with a badly broken femur bone, and his left hind leg had to be amputated.

During surgery, the veterinarian discovered Sneaker also suffered internal trauma, and one of his kidneys had to be removed as well.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“After his surgery, he’s back to being a regular kitten – he’s a fighter!” says South Okanagan-Similkameen SPCA Branch Manager Carolyn Hawkins.  “He is eating, drinking and jumping around like nothing happened! Even with three legs and one kidney, this spunky furball can still live a long, happy and healthy life in a forever home.”

Sneaker’s medical costs are expected to exceed $2,000.

The non-profit is reminding the community that it’s only through donations that animals like Sneaker can get the help and the forever home they need.
