It’s been six months since 44-year-old Daniel McAuley was killed in a hit-and-run in Langley.

McAuley was found dead, lying on the road, on 200th Street on Dec. 20, 2015.

At the time, witnesses told police a vehicle fled the area after stopping briefly.

After months of investigation, interviews and evidence gathering, police may have a breakthrough.

Based on vehicle parts left at the scene, they now believe the vehicle involved was a 2007 – 2011 Toyota Camry. The vehicle may also have had front-end damage.

The one distinct change from previous information provided is police now believe the suspect vehicle was red in colour.

McAuley’s family would like closure and the identification of the driver would serve as an important first step in that process.
