The Regina Police Service (RPS) continues to investigate a Monday evening shooting that’s left a 29-year-old man in critical condition.

Police responded to the 1400 block of Victoria Avenue around 8:30 p.m.  for reports of gunshots.

Witnesses said they heard shots fired from a nearby home in the area.

One person told Global News that he saw a man lying in the street and was later taken away by paramedics.

Police have confirmed the man is from Regina and he is being treated for his injuries in hospital.

A description of a suspect has not yet been released as police say they are still gathering more information.

“From what we know the suspect is believed to have fled on foot,” RPS spokesperson Elizabeth Popowich said.
