WINNIPEG — Rain was expected to hit Winnipeg late Tuesday night, but streets around the city were pretty dry Wednesday morning.
The system that dumped large amounts of rain in the southeastern portion of the province, sailed right past the city.
Areas that were closest to the U.S. border and in the southeast corner were hit with the most precipitation.
We’ll see more seasonal temperatures Wednesday and can expect to see the threat of more rain move in as we get closer to the weekend. That’s due to the return of heat and humidity, which could trigger more thunderstorms in the south.
Thursday’s high is expected to hit 29 Celsius, while Friday could see a temperature of 28 C. Plenty of sunshine both days.
Further into the week we’ll see another low pressure system sweep into the south on Saturday bringing cooler, cloudy and wet weather.
As the forecast stands now it’s looking like we’ll see a mix of sun and cloud for Sunday’s 38th running of the Manitoba Marathon and of course, Father’s Day.
