A 15-year-old skateboarder is in hospital with undetermined injuries after allegedly blowing through an intersection and colliding with a truck in Nanaimo this morning.
The accident happened at the intersection of Country Club Drive and Rock City Road at about 11:30 a.m.
After speaking to witnesses, police said the young man was traveling along Country Club Drive towards Rock City Road when he collided with a Dodge pickup.
Police found no helmet at the scene, that the teen was wearing earbuds and allegedly did not stop at the intersection.
The young man is currently being assessed at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Nanaimo RCMP.
