Some younger students and their teachers at Sutherland School used Thursday afternoon to support Young Adult Cancer Canada.
The students gathered in the gym and watched eleven classmates lose their locks.
Participants had a choice to get their heads shaved or cut off ten inches of hair.

Shave for the brave is a national fundraiser. Last year, the Saskatoon school was the first to host the event in Saskatchewan.
Organizers hope students become more aware of the prevalence of young adult cancers, which affect 7,000 Canadians every year.
A video inspired one student to take part.
“They showed us this one video about this girl who had no hair and when she got a new wig she got really excited and couldn’t stop moving,” said Jeremy Mark, a shave for the brave participant.
“That’s what really made us want to do it.”
The school raised $600, which will help support young adult cancer programs across Canada.
