WINNIPEG — A break in the rain is coming. However, it could be short-lived.
A slow moving low pressure system passing to the south of Manitoba brought a ton of rain to parts of the province. Rain will continue Wednesday over most regions in the southeast before the main band heads into Ontario later tonight.
Thursday the forecast carries much more promise with mainly sunny skies to dry us out with a high of 20 Celsius.
However, the threat of rain returns on Friday with a decent chance of early morning showers, and along with that the threat of thunderstorm activity.
A rainfall warning was finally lifted Tuesday afternoon in parts of the southwest – an area that saw the most amount of rain.
We did get a short reprieve from the showers late Tuesday afternoon but rain started up again overnight taking us into a wet Wednesday morning.
Environment Canada has forecast another 10-15 mm of rain for Winnipeg by the end of Wednesday.
