Saks Fifth Avenue to open first store in Calgary

Retailer Saks Fifth Avenue has announced plans to open its first location in Calgary.

The designer department store will be located in Chinook Centre, marking its third Canadian store and the first in western Canada.

According to Saks Fifth Avenue, the Calgary location will feature a full service Fifth Avenue Club complete with private suites and personal shopping consultants.

Saks Fifth Avenue president Marc Metrick said in a news release that Calgary was a “logical next step” in the store’s Canadian expansion.

“We are excited to bring Saks Fifth Avenue to Western Canada in 2018.”

The 115,000 square-foot, two-level Calgary location is expected to open in January 2018.
