Johnny Depp‘s ex-girlfriend of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis, with whom he shares two teenage children, has reportedly written a letter about the “outrageous” domestic violence charges made against him by ex-wife Amber Heard.
Heard, 30, filed for divorce from Depp, 52, on May 22, citing irreconcilable differences. The two have been married for about 15 months. Heard was later granted a domestic violence restraining order against Depp by a judge.

Allegedly in response to the restraining order and the accusations made by Heard, Paradis wrote the handwritten letter and sent it to TMZ. Signed by Paradis in Los Angeles and dated on Friday, she calls Depp a “sensitive, loving and loved person.”
She calls the charges “outrageous” and goes on to say, “In all these years I have known Johnny he has never been physically abusive with me and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years.”
She says she “believes with all her heart” that the incident described by Heard couldn’t have happened.
Depp’s first wife, Lori Anne Allison, who was married to the Hollywood star from 1983 to 1985, chimed in with similar comments to Paradis’. According to many celebrity gossip sites, Allison says Depp is a “soft person” who never got physical with her and “never even screamed.”
Heard submitted multiple photos as evidence for the restraining order, one of which purportedly shows the actress with what appears to be a bruise on her right eye.
TMZ reports that Depp allegedly “smashed” his iPhone into Heard’s face, resulting in the bruise. Heard claims that Depp offered her money to stay quiet after he supposedly hit her, but she instead chose to file for divorce first thing Monday morning.
Heard also claims to have video of one of the alleged beatings.

Different from a regular restraining order, a domestic violence restraining order is designed to protect people from abuse and threats of abuse from those they’re in close relationships with.
Heard is also seeking spousal support from Depp.
Christi Dembrowski, Depp’s sister, tells the U.K.’s The Daily Mail that “he’s fine” despite the divorce proceedings and granted restraining order. In fact, Depp and his band, The Hollywood Vampires, performed on Saturday in Portugal.
On Wednesday, Depp filed a response, asking the court to “terminate the court’s ability to award support” to Heard. He also requested that Heard pay her own lawyer fees — something else she had asked for Depp to cover.
“Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life,” read a statement released to the media. “Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”
Depp’s mother, Betty Sue Palmer, died late last week at the age of 81.

The pair did not sign a prenuptial agreement, but Depp is trying to ensure that many of his assets stay his. He specifically noted “miscellaneous jewelry,” earnings made after their separation and, as stipulated in the response, “there are additional separate property assets and obligations of the parties, the exact nature and extent of which are not presently known.”
California law stipulates that any divorcing couple without a prenup will divide joint assets in half.
The marriage was Depp’s second and Heard’s first, and the pair has no children together. They met while filming The Rum Diary in 2011.
