KELOWNA–In its 10th year, YMCA of Okanagan’s Cycle for Strong Kids raised a record breaking $100,520.

“We use that money to help fund our programs for kids and families that otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to participate,” says C.J. Wilkins with YMCA of Okanagan.  “We have programs such as our Beyond the Bell program in West Kelowna where we reach out to really vulnerable kids in the community, provide them with after school care, help teach then literacy skills, math skills, social skills, really make a big difference in their lives.  It’s not just a swimming pool and a gym.”

The YMCA of Okanagan says currently one in five children enrolled in local YMCA  programs need donor funding to participate.
