Two teenagers were taken to hospital in critical condition Thursday night after a rollover just west of Calgary.
It happened at around 8 p.m. on the Trans-Canada Highway heading into the city, just before the turnoff to Cochrane.
Paramedics arrived to find a vehicle that had been badly damaged in a rollover.
A male in his late teens was airlifted to the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary by STARS Air Ambulance, while a female in her late teens was transported by ground ambulance. EMS said both were suffering from serious injuries, but were transported in stable, non-life-threatening condition.
Highway 1 was closed for a period of time Thursday night as officers investigated.
The cause of the rollover is under investigation. It’s unknown if the teens were wearing seatbelts.
