WINNIPEG– Severe weather season has arrived in Manitoba.
Tuesday, severe thunderstorm watches and warnings were issued in our province. There was some nickel sized hail reported in the Interlake region.
Wednesday will bring more storm activity. Rain will be moving in from the south starting this afternoon. There is also the risk of non severe thunderstorm activity. There is potential for very heavy rain at times, primarily around Westman.
Rainfall amounts will vary from this system. Generally, most areas will get between 15 and 50mm by Friday.
There is also potential for severe weather Thursday. While there will be less rainfall Thursday then what is expected Wednesday night, this is when there is potential for hail.
Through the rest of the week and into the weekend, the atmosphere around Winnipeg will remain quite unstable so more rain is likely.
