Police in Halifax have launched an investigation after a woman was reportedly assaulted in a cab on May 6.
The woman reported the incident to police on May 16.
Halifax Regional Police say a cab driver was dropping off a female client near Walnut and Cedar streets in the early morning hours of May 6.
When the passenger asked how much she owed, the driver allegedly said “no charge,” and then forcibly kissed her and touched her in a sexual manner.
The woman jumped out of the cab and the driver left.
The woman was picked up in the area of Argyle and Prince streets at about 3 a.m. on May 6.
The cab is described as a black van with a roof light. The suspect is described as a possibly Middle Eastern or light-complexion black man with an accent, and approximately 35-40 years old.
He had a medium build, a bald shiny head, clean-shaven face, dark eyes and was about 5’8″ tall.
