Calgary police are investigating a shooting in the community of Penbrooke Meadows on Friday that injured one man.
Officers were called to the 400 block of Penswood Road S.E. at around 2:20 a.m. for reports of a shooting.
The victim was rushed to hospital in serious but stable condition.
Witnesses told police they heard a vehicle flee the scene.
A short time later, a vehicle possibly connected to the shooting was pulled over by police.
Officers took the occupants of the vehicle in for questioning.
“It is not yet known what, if any, role they may have played in the incident,” police said in a Friday news release.
Investigators believe the shots originated outside the residence.
“Numerous rounds were discharged into the residence, striking one of the individuals in the home at the time,” police said. “Officers are working to determine how many people were in the home during the incident.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the Calgary Police Service non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers.
