KENT, WA – The WHL Kelowna Rockets lost 3-1 to the Seattle Thunderbirds Tuesday night in game three of their best-of-seven playoff series of the Western Conference Championship.

The Rockets played most of the first period shorthanded as Seattle had five power play opportunities which led to their first goal of the hockey game, scored by Bryan Albee.

Justin Kirkland took the marker for Kelowna in the second to tie up the game. The goal was Kirkland’s ninth of the post-season.

Into the third period, Seattle’s Ethan Bear gave the Thunderbirds the lead again and Mathew Barzal sealed the deal with the team’s third goal on an empty net at 18:31.

Shots on goal were 37-33 in Kelowna’s favour.

The Thunderbirds host game four Wednesday.
