Elderly woman killed in Maple Ridge collision

An 86-year-old woman is dead after getting hit by a car in Maple Ridge early Monday morning.

It happened around 8:20 a.m. as the woman was crossing on Dewdney Trunk Road at 228 Street.

She was rushed to hospital, but passed away from her injuries.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
