A police chase which took place over several hours and several major highways came to an dramatic conclusion as the suspect stripped naked before her arrest.
It all began on Friday evening in Pasadena when a woman got into an argument with her parents and tried to run them over with an SUV.
“She tried to strike one or both of her parents,” Pasadena police Lt. Vasken Gourdikian told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. “They had to jump out of the way.”
“She also vandalized some property at the residence,” Gourdikian told reporters at a Saturday morning news conference according to CBS News. “Apparently, she perhaps rammed a few of the cars that were parked on the property and broke her parent’s house window with a brick.”
Police were called but the woman had already fled the scene.
When officers found the woman shortly thereafter, she refused to pull over and a chase began.
News copters would follow a chase that went over at least four highways and reached speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
Gourdikian told CBS News the chase was called off.
Eventually, the woman pulled over on a side street and began to walk around downtown Los Angeles, unaware that a news copter was capturing her every move, which was being streamed online.
Police arrived 15 minutes later, and the woman inexplicably stripped naked before she was handcuffed.
Simone Gonzalez, 32, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, evading and reckless driving, according to CBS News.
