A Peel Regional Police officer faces criminal charges after he allegedly assaulted two men at a wedding reception earlier this month.
Police say the incident happened in the early morning hours on Sunday, April 10 at a Banquet Hall in Brampton west of Toronto.
Const. Jasjit Sandhu was off-duty when he was involved in an altercation and assaulted two men, police say.
He has been charged with one count each of assault and assault causing bodily harm following an internal investigation.
The officer has been suspended with pay under the provisions of the province’s Police Services Act.
Sandhu made a court appearance on April 18.
