TROUT CREEK, B.C. — The search for a missing ATV rider thrown into Trout Creek Saturday has been suspended.
RCMP say at this point the search is being considered a recovery mission.
Police have identified the 33-year-old victim as David Shackelton of Peachland.
High, fast flowing water has made it too dangerous for search crews for the time being.
“The search for David Shackleton will resume as soon as water levels subside to permit safer conditions for the searchers and in order to maximize the possibility of locating Mr. Shackleton.” said Cpl. Dan Moskaluk.

Shackleton, who was a passenger of the ATV, was thrown into the creek just after 6 p.m. Saturday.
There was still no sign him after a major ground and air search by Penticton Search and Rescue and the RCMP over the weekend.
The driver was released from police custody with no charges.
Investigators are still looking into if alcohol consumption may have been a factor in the accident.
