An Arizona dad missed the birth of his second child because his cat severely bit him when being put in its cage.
Randy Jeffris required hand surgery on April 14 after his cat attacked him, which turned out to be the same day his second daughter, Allure, was born.
“We were kind of hoping the baby would wait, but kids come at their own time,” Jeffris told KPNX News.
After Jeffris woke up in the operating room doctors told him the bittersweet news.
“I woke up, they told me, ‘your baby is born,'” he said .
Even though Jeffris didn’t witness the birth of Allure, both he and his wife are happy they have a healthy baby.
“We’re just so blessed and thankful,” Jeffris’ wife, Theresa , said.
