MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit says they’re looking into a series of events involving a 25-year-old woman from Pickering, Ont.
They say the woman was attending her father’s birthday party when her parents grew concerned about her behaviour.
The SIU says her parents drove her to a local police station, where she was restrained in the parking lot then taken to a nearby hospital.
She was soon released from hospital, driven to a different police station, then taken to yet another hospital where she was diagnosed with a fractured wrist.
The unit did not indicate when these events took place.
The SIU is an arms-length agency that investigates incidents involving police in which there has been death, injury or allegations of sexual assault.
