Shomi: What’s good in April?

You know what they say about April showers… so why not stay inside and watch Shomi instead?

In April, Shomi is bringing in some outstanding movies, including The Truman Show starring Canadian funnyman Jim Carrey, ’90s classic Ghost with Whoopi Goldberg, Patrick Swayze (R.I.P.) and Demi Moore, and disco film Saturday Night Fever. Did we mention the Star Trek movies — from the original to II: The Wrath of Khan to VI: The Undiscovered Country — will be showing up on the streaming service starting April 15?

As for TV, two shows are making their Shomi debuts this month. SuperMansion, an animated series starring Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), will premiere its first season, and Playing House, a show about two former childhood friends who now live together and deal with adult-sized problems, will premiere its first and second seasons. If you’re a fan of old cartoons, then you’ll be thrilled to know that the first two seasons of Ren & Stimpy will be available on April 22.

Star Trek — Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (April 15)
Enjoy the bounty of the original Star Trek films (starring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy in their best-known roles) from start to finish.

Wayne’s World (April 1)
Two slacker friends try to promote their public-access cable show.

Almost Famous (April 8)
A high-school boy is given the chance to write a story for Rolling Stone about an up-and-coming rock band as he accompanies it on their concert tour.

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (April 1)
Two seemingly dumb teens struggle to prepare a historical presentation with the help of a time machine.

SuperMansion (Season 1) (April 15)
Aging superhero Titanium Rex, and his has-been team known as The League of Freedom struggle to stay relevant in a changing world.

Playing House (Seasons 1 & 2) (April 22)
Childhood best friends Maggie Caruso and Emma Crawford have shared countless adventures growing up together. Now, Maggie and Emma are in store for one of their biggest adventures — raising a baby.

Bob’s Burgers (Season 5) (April 1)
Bob Belcher, along with his wife and three children, try to run their last hope of holding the family together, which is running Bob’s dream restaurant.
