A company is investigating after an Oklahoma couple claim they discovered parts of a mouse in a can of green beans.
KFOR-TV reported that Midwest City residents Andrew and Chelsea Belflower say they found the head and leg of a small mouse in a can of the beans while preparing an Easter meal at their church.
The Belflowers say they were disturbed by the find, and worried the rest of the rodent could be in other cans of the product.
“We kind of started opening them and putting them in the crock pot,” said Chelsea Belflower. “By about the fourth can, something dumped out into the crock pot. My husband noticed it and he said what is that?”
‘Best Choice’, the maker of the product, says all cans of its green beans have been pulled from Oklahoma store shelves while it investigates.
“It could be in one of the other cans on my counter. It could be at Crest,” said Andrew Belflower. “It could be in somebody’s pantry. It’s really kind of grotesque.”
“I’m afraid that there may be some bacteria or something in it,” added Chelsea Belflower.
