Rollover on icy stretch of Highway 1

WINNIPEG — Traffic was at a stand still on Highway 1 near Portage La Prairie after a pickup truck rolled into the ditch Friday morning.

Highways were extremely icy. With the help of paramedics the driver was able to walk away from the crash.

Traffic was backed up as emergency crews closed the westbound lanes of Highway 1 about 15 kilometres east of Portage La Prairie.

A short distance away a semi truck was jack-knifed in the ditch.
