Wet weather on track for start of Easter weekend

WINNIPEG — The Easter weekend will see many people hit the road with travel plans firmly intact to see friends and family. If you are one of the many travelling through southern Manitoba you’ll definitely run into rain and or snow through Thursday evening and into Friday morning.

In the Winnipeg area, rain will turn to snow later into the evening with winds becoming gusty out of the south reaching speeds of 50 kilometres an hour. Snowfall will amount to two to four centimetres. Friday, winds will shift northerly and still remain fairly gusty making it a very chilly Good Friday.

The high on Friday is forecast for -2 Celsius while overnight we are looking at a low that is far below the normal of -8 C with -13 C currently forecasted.

The rest of your weekend is looking a bit brighter with sunshine for Saturday and a high of 0 C, while Sunday a slight chance of showers returns but a mild 5 C.

Our overnight lows for the week of spring break are looking a lot warmer than seasonal, which is -8 C.
