MARKHAM, Ont. – A high school vice principal from north of Toronto is accused of sexually assaulting a former student.

York Regional Police say they got word of the alleged assault last week, but did not specify when the offence is believed to have occurred.

They have arrested 40-year-old Paul Paterson, who is the vice-principal at St. Roberts Catholic High School in Markham, Ont.

Paterson is charged with one count each of sexual assault and sexual exploitation.

Police say they want to ensure there are no other victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
