There is a new tool to help identify Vancouver’s best neighbourhood based on personal preference.

Vancouver Magazine created an online calculator that allows you to find out which of the city’s 39 neighbourhoods suits you best by inputting what’s important to you personally — criteria such as green space, affordability, schools and incidence of property crime.

Editor Max Fawcett says the online tool hopes to tap into “a conversation that people have all the time about which neighbourhoods are best and what goes into making a good neighbourhood.”

“We have all these inputs that go into deciding which neighbourhoods we like and which we don’t. The great thing about the tool is that it lets people actually express those preferences and it tells them which neighbourhoods are best for them based on their priorities.”

The magazine also provided what it calls the “city’s first-ever quantitative ranking of all 39 neighbourhoods.”
