WestJet offering direct flights from Winnipeg to Halifax starting in July

WINNIPEG — Direct, seasonal flights to Halifax, Nova Scotia will be available to those flying out from Winnipeg starting July 2.

Four flights a week will leave Winnipeg for the maritime city at 12:30 a.m. and land in Halifax at 6 a.m.

“Halifax has long been a popular destination from Winnipeg and we are pleased to see WestJet adding a new direct flight to Canada’s beautiful east coast during peak summer months,” Pascal Belanger, Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Winnipeg Airports Authority said in a news release Monday.

Before this announcement, the farthest direct flight east from Winnipeg was to Montreal, Quebec.
