‘Kroppy’ hoping to make Winnipeg Jets home game by end of month

WINNIPEG — The family of Jets fan Len Kropioski says he hopes to get to a home game by the end of this month.

“Kroppy” became a household name for Jets fans after the club regularly featured him on the jumbotron during each home game.

The 97-year-old has been in hospital after a series of health problems.  But his family says he still has his eye on March 30th, when the Jets play the Ottawa Senators.

“He’s working hard to get stronger everyday with physio and everything to be able to go,” his daughter Adrian Lacombe said.

There has been an outpouring of support from the community since fans first noticed Kroppy in mid-February that he was no longer in his regular seat at home games.

His daughter tells Global News he is very thankful for the support saying “It’s helping him to know so many people care.”
