New Mexico police were able to skip the strip search following the arrest of an alleged drunk driver on Saturday, after the suspect was caught fleeing the scene of a crash completely naked.

The entire incident was captured by Santa Fe police on dashcam video, and was released Tuesday.

The video shows 51-year-old Barbara Arrellano leading authorities on a high speed chase.

Moments later, Arrellano attempts to run a red light at an intersection, but is struck by another vehicle, sending her car spinning out of control.

As police approach, the camera captures the naked woman exit her car and begin running across the freeway, yelling at police as she crosses in front of a deputy’s cruiser.

Body camera video also released by police shows how officers used a blue tarp to cover the woman after handcuffing her.

Police said the woman attacked officers after being taken to the county jail.

Arrellano told police a seizure-causing cyst on her head was the reason for the behaviour.
