Ever wonder why Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has fared so well?
In an ode to their hit Broadway musical, The Producers, Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane reprised their roles as Leo Bloom and Max Bialystock for a skit on Jimmy Kimmel’s post-Oscars special to try and figure it out.
Rather than being Broadway producers, Bloom and Bialystock are political consultants, looking for the perfect candidate.

As Bialystock explains, they need “A real trainwreck. A schmuck. A putz. A Grade-A, world-class, gold-plated nincompoop.”
After describing their perfect candidate, A TV announcer introduces an old clip of Donald Trump sitting at a desk in an office saying, “Many people have been asking about my desk and the fact that I have so many papers on my desk.”
Flash forward to the pair sitting at a shoeshine stand wondering how they failed to fail while guiding Trump’s candidacy.

Bialystock asks, “Did he question John McCain’s war heroism?”
Bloom: “Yes.”
Bialystock then questions, “ Did he say we should forcibly Kick out 11 million immigrants?”

“Yes,” says a shoeshine boy played by Jimmy Kimmel.
To which Bialystock responds,“Did he propose banning all one billion Muslims from entering the U.S.?”
The satirical take on GOP nominee frontrunner Trump comes just ahead of Super Tuesday, one of the most important days in the 2016 presidential election campaign.
