SASKATOON – Deadpool is from Regina? In Marvel’s latest flick, the main character introduces himself as “Wade Wilson from Regina, Saskatchewan. Regina, the town that rhymes with fun.”
Hearing this was reason enough for a fan from Regina to create two online petitions, one on Change.org and one on Care2, asking Regina city council to build a Deadpool statue.

The petitioner says he directed it at city officials because the statue could potentially be built on city property. Alternatively, because he expects some people may be opposed to using tax dollars for the statue, he also suggest the possibility of crowd-funding to build a likeness of Marvel’s anti-hero.
