REGINA – Yeah Baby, Yeah!
Fan Expo Regina announced Monday that Verne Troyer, who played Mini-Me in the Austin Powers films, will be appearing at next month’s event.
Troyer will be joining English actors James and Oliver Phelps and other celebrity guests for the expo, which runs from April 23-24.
The Phelps twins are best for playing Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.
Actor Sean Astin, known for his role as Samwise Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, has been revealed as the first special guest back in February.
Astin is also known for portraying Mikey in Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Goonies’ and the title character in the critically -acclaimed sports film ‘Rudy.’
Last month, Brent Spiner became the second celebrity guest. Spiner played android Starfleet officer, Lieutenant Commander Data, on Star Trek: The Next Generation and in four Star Trek films.
At last year’s Fan Expo Regina, fans had a chance to see Superman actress Margot Kidder and Jonathon Frakes, famous for playing Commander William T. Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Now in its third year, Fan Expo Regina will once again be held at the Canada Centre East building at Evraz Place.
A single day pass costs $25 for Saturday or $20 for Sunday. A deluxe two-day pass is $35 and a premium pass is $65.
Besides guest appearances, Regina gamers, comic book collectors, sci-fi fans and movie and TV buffs can visit different product booths and an artist alley.
More names are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Guest appearance times have not been posted yet.
